The composition competition is open to all students in the school.
The compositions are received, anonymised, and sent separately to the joint adjudicators, with guidance on marking out of 100, and the scores averaged out to select a winner.
Adjudication is independent.
This year we’ll develop this concept further by arranging a Composition Workshop for children interested in entering.
The 2017 competition closes in week 4 of term 4:
In 2016, the winner had a one-on-one with singer-song writer Anthony Snape, an Australian artist based in Nashville.
In 2016, its inception year, Mike Kenny (Conductor, Ryde Secondary) and Benjamin Herbert (Composition Graduate, Sydney Conservatorium of Music) were invited to adjudicate.
