Ryde Eisteddfod – A very hearty and well-deserved congratulations to our Rock Band who competed this morning at the Ryde Eisteddfod. Emma in 5/6W is also representing our school today in the Woodwind Solo event. On Thursday, it will be the turn of our Recorder Ensemble and we wish all the students all the best. If there are any other musicians participating at the Eisteddfods, please get in touch with me so that we can acknowledge their efforts.
Composition Workshop – In preparation for this year’s Composition Competition, a Composition Workshop will be run in Week 5. The workshop is free and open to any students’ K – 6, interested in entering the Composition Competition. If you are interested, there is a signup sheet on the band room door. The workshop will be run by Michael O’Donnell who aside from being a strings tutor is also a composer.
Information and Instrument Demonstration Evening – We’ll be having an information evening that will include an instrument demonstration in Week 6, ahead of the instrument tryout day in Week 8. This will be a great opportunity for all families, whether currently in the program or if you are looking at joining in the future, to come along and see what will be happening next year. There will be a number of changes happening so come along and be informed.
If you have any questions you’d like answered on the evening, please send your suggestions to Jenifer our secretary and we’ll make sure that it gets covered on the evening firstname.lastname@example.org
Please check out our Music Program Website and give us your feedback, we can’t improve it unless you tell us what works and what doesn’t. www.rydeeastmusic.wordpress.com
