Newsletter – 18 July 2017 – Term 3 week 1

LESSONS START THIS WEEK

Welcome back everyone! Music lessons, Ensembles and Band rehearsals started today, and will continue as normal for this week. Our newest ensemble (and youngest players) started today and I’m sure there will be a lot of excited talk about the Junior String Ensemble at the dinner table tonight. I hope everyone managed to fill in lots of spaces on their practice cards over the holidays. If you hand completed cards in by Wednesday of Week 3 you’ll be able to get an award at the assembly that week.

MUSIC PROGRAM TERM 3 – WHATS NEW?

Junior String Ensemble – This new ensemble started today and comprises of our new term 3 players from k-2 and those children who started lessons at the start of the year who will take on a leading role in this group. Their first public performance will be at the Musical Variety Night in Term 4

Electric & Bass Guitar Specialist Lessons – Welcome to Aydin Zahedi, our new electric and bass guitar teacher. We are currently working out a few details and will transition some of the current students first before offering lessons for new students.

Composition Workshop – In preparation for this years Composition Competition, a Composition Workshop will be run later this term. The workshop will be free and open to any students interested in entering the Composition Competition.

Information and Instrument Demonstration Evening – We’ll be having an information evening that will include an instrument demonstration in Week 6, ahead of the instrument tryout day in Week 8. This will be a great opportunity for all families, whether currently in the program or if you are looking at joining in the future, to come along and see what will be happening next year.
